Changing or Adding Content to a Webpage

Puzzle.

Mr. Riviere and some of his students will try to help teachers with questions about making changes to their teacher pages or to school pages on this website. When sending an email requesting help, be sure to follow the guidelines below so that the changes you desire will not be delayed.

Making Changes to your Teacher Webpage

Teachers have two choices:

  1. Learn to use the Adobe Contribute software that will be installed in the Library for teachers to use. You can start learning to use Contribute through online tutorials. We'll try to have Contribute training in person during one of our early-out days.
  2. Send in a request to Mr. Riviere giving as many details as possible along with the best time during the school day for you to talk with a student helper or Mr. Riviere about the work that needs to be done.
    • Did you know that you can send in a Word document and ask for it to be saved as a PDF? That will allow your students and their parents to view the information online just by clicking on a link from your teacher webpage. This is ideal for Grading Policies, your Syllabus, or any other information you want to make sure is accessble from any computer with Internet access.
    • Did you know that you don't have to have any technical skills to have a great-looking webpage? Just tell the student helpers what you would like done and they will try to figure out how to make your vision become a reality.
    • Just like the school website has a Google calendar embedded into it, individual teachers can have their own Google calendar on their teacher webpage that is dedicated to homework or class events (click here for an example). Just open a Google account and then contact Mr. Riviere to find out what to do next.
    • If you would like to include photos of students, be sure to follow the photo guidelines.

Adding an Event to the School Calendar

If you like something added to the school calendar, send an email to Arlene Enriquez at aenriquez@scusd.net or to Mr. Riviere at jriviere@scusd.net. Be sure to include the following:

  • The exact date where you would like your event to appear.
  • A very short title for the event that can be read at a glance. The calendar will show a limited number of words.
  • Optional: A longer description of the event. The calendar allows viewers to click to see the longer description.

Adding an Announcment for the Entire School

If you have an announcment that you would like shared with the entire school, send an email to Mr. Riviere at jriviere@scusd.net making the request. Make sure your announcement is ready to be copied and pasted onto the website (no spelling errors, etc.). You can also send a Word document which will be turned into a page that can be viewed online. If you are including a photo to accompany the announcement, please make sure it follows the photo guidelines.
