Traffic & Safety
Now that the 2009-2010 school year is in full swing, parents are rushing to get their kids to school before work each morning and after work each day. Traffic safety is a constant concern during the morning and afternoon rush. In an effort to keep parents and students safe, we ask for parents to begin thinking of alternative drop-off and pick-up spots for their children. Other safe areas include, but are not limited to; meeting their children a block or two from campus or behind Cabrillo on Raggio Avenue. Changing drop-off and pick-up times can also be helpful in avoiding the overburdened parking lot. Traffic is significantly less early in the morning around 7:30 a.m., on regular days around 2:45 p.m., and on early outs around 1:45 p.m. If parents do find it necessary to come into the school parking lot during peak times, please be alert to students who are traveling near campus and follow the directional traffic signs and school officials. Keep in mind, there are no left turns out of the parking lot between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. In addition, please pull forward through the lot towards the YAC as far as possible before dropping off or picking up your children. Be aware that the SCPD have already written several citations for traffic violations near school.
Thank you, in advance, for working with us and making every effort to keep the kids of Cabrillo safe.

Tips for High School
Did you know that Cabrillo offers three High School classes? It’s true. Algebra 1, Tech Lit., and Spanish are all accepted courses towards high school graduation requirements. Being High School level classes, they are graded a little different than the other middle school courses. Algebra 1, Tech Lit., and Spanish are all semester courses. This means there is no “fresh start” at the end of the 1st and 3rdquarters as grades are carried out until the end of each semester. The good news is that if students pass both semesters, they courses count towards high school graduation!
