California Department of Education--This site provides access to the frameworks, textbook adoption lists, and much other information about the standards and requirements set for education in California.

SCORE Schools of California Online Resources for Educators--This site provides access to excellent sites in each curriculum area which will help students find materials for assignments and help teachers plan lessons.

21st Century Literacies--A site devoted to improving literacy in all subject areas.

Guys Read--A literacy initiative for boys started by Jon Scieszka.

Search Institute--A resource for information on working with children. There are links to many resources.

The Alan Review--A journal by a division of the NCTE concerning adolescent literature.

The Educators Reference Desk--A collection maintained by librarians organized by topic.

VOYA Online--The online magazine of the Voice of Youth Advocates for librarians serving adolescents. A ton of good articles about books and reading.

History Matters--A great resource for American History including information on primary sources

American Memory--Home page for the Library of Congress' American Memory project.
